Bloggers, Rejoice!

Finally, a candidate website that makes covering a race virtually effortless.

We designed this site with bloggers in mind. On every page, in every way, you’ll find that we built this site to make it easier for you to spread Alexi’s message and cover the race.

1. Click-To-Blog

We know how tedious it can be to copy information from candidate websites. You go to the website, copy the text you want to blog about, paste it into your editor, go back, copy the website address, go back to your editor, paste the address. Then you have to go back and code it all. Not on AlexiForIllinois.com.

For the first time, you can enjoy a blogger-friendly candidate site that simplifies the blogging process.

Simply highlight the text you want to blog about. Click the "</>" icon in the bottom of a post.  Paste into your editor.  That's it.

When you click the “copy with code" button, the code on your clipboard will look like this:

<a href="http://www.alexiforillinois.com/pageURL">Add your link text here:</a>
<blockquote>This is the text you highlighted to copy</blockquote>

You can also click the quotation marks button, which will paste plain text on your clipboard for easy formatting.

2. Optimized for Bloggers On The Go

You shouldn’t have to squint at your phone to see what’s new on AlexiForIllinois.com. Our website features a larger, simpler layout that lets you see what’s happening at AlexiForIllinois.com with just one glance, instead of having to scroll endlessly down on your phone.

You can also share effortlessly right from your mobile browser. Just hover over or click the red “+” sign and you can share AFI content with your Twitter or Facebook readers, and with several other sources.

3. Blogable Pictures

We want you to be able to cover the visual aspect of our campaign without having to right click, save, then have to resize a 1028 x 768px for your blog.  That’s why in our Blogger Kit, you can find special, "byte-size" pictures perfect to get you started, all sized 450px wide or less, most under 100kb.

Make sure to check out everything that's in our BloggerKit, from photos to small-scale video and more.

4. Feed Me

If your Google Reader or FeedBurner is hungry for the latest IL-Sen news, AlexiForIllinois.com is the place to be. If you want everything new on AlexiForIlinois.com, just subscribe to our blog feed. Our blog will be the central source for every press release, video, and communication put out by the campaign.
