Today we continue our series of highlighting the stark differences between Congressman Mark Kirk and Alexi on key policy issues as posed to both by the Chicago Tribune editorial board. Today’s topic:  the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), the stimulus package and the extension of unemployment benefits.

The question posed by the Chicago Tribune:

How did you vote -- or, how would you have voted -- on the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program? On the $787 billion stimulus package? On extending jobless benefits?

CHICAGO - In a contortion that would make any Washington politician proud, Congressman Mark Kirk today came out against the Wall Street bailout that he fought for in 2008.

CHICAGO - United States Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias released the following statement reiterating his campaign's donation of contributions to a variety of local non-profit organizations:

"As my campaign said yesterday, I am shocked and appalled by the news reports of the Giannis family's alleged horrible scheme to defraud banks in Chicago including my family's bank. Upon learning all of this, I instructed my campaign immediately to donate all campaign contributions from these individuals to non-profit organizations.
