COLLINSVILLE - Standing with working men and women from Southwest Illinois, U.S. Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias highlighted his job creation program while criticizing his opponent for supporting the failed economic policies that contributed to the region's high unemployment rate and rewarded companies that shipped jobs overseas.

"Nothing is more important right now than creating the next generation of good-paying American jobs, especially here in Metro East," Giannoulias said. "Unlike my opponent Congressman Mark Kirk, I have stood up to corporate special interests and Wall Street banks and helped save and create hundreds of Illinois jobs."

Champaign - Congressman Mark Kirk is lying to Illinois voters yet again today, traveling to Champaign-Urbana to tout an agenda that is as flimsy as the poster board he puts it on. 

In his latest act of claiming one thing and doing another, Congressman Mark Kirk touted several "priorities" today in Champaign-Urbana that he actually voted against as a Congressman, including university research funding, protecting Medicare, funding local infrastructure, aid to small businesses and cracking down on crime.

CARBONDALE - On the third day of their Illinois Jobs Tour, U.S. Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin joined Carbondale-area small business owners at the Dunn Richmond Economic Development Center to discuss their plans to help small businesses grow and gain access to capital. This stands in stark contrast to Congressman Mark Kirk who has consistently supported the failed Bush economic policies that have hurt small businesses.
