CHICAGO - With less than three weeks left before the November 2 election, Illinois voters who have had enough of the lies and out-of-touch beliefs of Mark Kirk are voicing their opinions in a new ad launched today by U.S. Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias.

MOLINE - Standing with working men and women from the Quad Cities, U.S. Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias today highlighted his job creation program while criticizing his opponent for supporting the failed economic policies that contributed to the region's high unemployment rate and rewarded companies that shipped jobs overseas.

"Nothing is more important right now than creating the next generation of good-paying American jobs, especially here in the Quad Cities," Giannoulias said. "Unlike my opponent Congressman Mark Kirk, I have stood up to corporate special interests and Wall Street banks and helped save and create hundreds of Illinois jobs."

CHICAGO - As Republicans and special interests continue their desperate attempts to distract from talking about the issues that matter to Illinois families, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce - an organization that opposes Wall Street reform, health care reform and clean energy reform - launched a misleading television ad today against Alexi Giannoulias.
 

CHICAGO - After touring a Chicago job retraining facility today, Illinois Treasurer and Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate Alexi Giannoulias joined U.S. Senator Richard Durbin and Congressman Danny Davis (D-7) to criticize Congressman Mark Kirk for voting against extending jobless benefits that would help thousands of struggling Illinois families and his false claims that he is a fiscal conservative. Giannoulias pointed to Kirk's multiple votes against extending benefits, calling him out-of-touch for referring to unemployment as not a "big issue."

CHICAGO - With millions of Americans suffering through the worst economic climate since the Great Depression - featuring a job market in which, for every opening, there are five people looking for work - Republican Congressman Mark Kirk demonstrated how out of touch he is by voting yet again to deny extending jobless benefits. Congressman Kirk, a 10-year incumbent, apparently feels no responsibility to those who are struggling through an economy he helped create by supporting every single one of the ruinous Bush economic policies that got us into this mess.

With Illinois' unemployment rate hitting 12 percent, U.S. Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias today called on Republican Congressman Mark Kirk to stop putting politics and obstructionism ahead of creating new jobs in Illinois. Despite the fact that it will create 250,000 new jobs and enjoyed bipartisan support, Mark Kirk voted against the HIRE Act, which President Obama is set to sign into law today.
