Not only is Alexi ready to lead and bring new and innovative approaches to the critical economic issues our country faces, but he has also shown tremendous leadership on the issues important to the Greek community. 

Due in large part to his relationships, the Greek community has seen an increase in the number of Illinois representatives in the Congressional Greek Caucus, a closer relationship between the White House and the national Greek community, and more attention paid by both the Congress and the Administration to Hellenic issues, the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Cyprus.  

 More young Greek-Americans are running successfully for office, more are getting actively involved in politics – canvassing, phone banking, fundraising, and generally becoming a force.  Under his chairmanship, the national Greek American for Obama Committee both raised significant funds and ran field operations in several states in the last presidential election.  Alexi has played a key role in the Greek-American community becoming a greater force in both local and national politics.

Thousands of members of the Greek community have brought their energy, their resources, and their ideas to our campaign because they know that having a Greek-American elected to the United States Senate will inspire Greek youth throughout the nation.
