Working Families for Alexi

Alexi doesn't just give lip service to helping working families. He has a record to prove it.

Take Hartmarx for example. When Wells Fargo threatened to liquidate good-paying American jobs at Hartmarx, the 120-year-old men’s clothier in Des Plaines, Alexi took action. He made it clear that if Wells Fargo received $25 billion in bailout money from federal taxpayers, then it had a responsibility to invest in American jobs and American workers, not destroy American companies. Alexi told the president of the bank that if those jobs were liquidated, Wells Fargo would no longer manage $8 billion in Illinois taxpayer money. Because Alexi and others stood up to Wells Fargo, the bank relented and hundreds of Illinois jobs were saved.

As United States Senator, he’ll continue his commitment by passing the Employee Free Choice Act, ensuring that every American has access to affordable health care, and building and strengthening the middle class by creating jobs for Illinois. We’re excited about the endorsements from unions, including the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters; UNITE HERE; Amalgamated Transit Workers Union 241; UFCW; SEIU; Teamsters; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades; International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers; Laborers International Union of North America. These unions represent hundreds of thousands of working families in Illinois who support our campaign for moving Illinois forward.

On November 2, union members will have the opportunity to vote for someone who has a proven record of fighting for working families.  Join the campaign that will move our nation and state forward by filling out the form above.
